Steve Milbury

Vice President of Business Development, Opportunities NB

Steve Milbury has worked in economic development for the past 12 years. Before joining ONB, Steve worked in the private sector for over two decades, gaining experience in the high-tech sector as a professional business developer and senior sales leader delivering products, services and project management skills to multimillion-dollar companies. 

He has travelled extensively for work across North America and Europe and lived in both Calgary and Vancouver. In the mid-2000s, he returned home to New Brunswick to enter the software industry for several years before serving as General Sales Manager for the region’s top office furniture dealer, leading a team that would serve notable clients like Irving Oil.  

Steve’s years of experience, work ethic and knack for business development would ultimately lead him to Opportunities NB, where he has moved from multiple Senior Director roles to Vice President of Investment Attraction and Trade to his current position as Vice President of Business Development. 

Steve is now responsible for leading all ONB activity as it relates to investment attraction, trade and export development, business growth and operations in its India and France-based offices. His team is proactively engaged in driving investment opportunities in priority sectors such as energy innovation, cybersecurity, digital health, advanced manufacturing, ICT and agritech. 

Believing that hockey teaches one hard work, trust, communication, collaboration, respect and teamwork, Steve continues to make the game a big part of his life, in the boardroom and beyond. Now recognized by Hockey Canada as a high-performance coach, he is active in his community volunteering as the Vice President of the U18 Major AAA Vito’s Hockey program, coaching the Kennebecasis Valley High School Boys AAA Hockey Team, and serving as a director with the YMCA.
