Brad McPherson

Director of Innovation, Centre for Nuclear Energy Research, University of New Brunswick

Brad McPherson is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick’s program in Chemical Engineering and has been a professional engineer since 2009.  Brad has held various roles in government including with the Department of Environment & Local Government (DELG) as an environmental regulator, the New Brunswick Jobs Board Secretariat with a focus on energy and, manager & director roles for the Department of Energy and Resource Development as well as NB Power.

In 2022, Brad left the government to become Director of Innovation at the Centre for Nuclear Energy Research as part of the University of New Brunswick and to continue his work with the Department of Chemical Engineering as a stipend instructor and industrial mentor.  

Brad is very active in the charity space where he serves as director and committee chair to a major charity organization and has held positions on the board of directors in the resource development sector.  Brad has been married for nearly 20 years to a wonderful lady and they have two children together.
