Gilles Volpé

President, Liberty Utilities New Brunswick

Mr. Volpé is the President of Liberty Utilities New Brunswick, the province’s public natural gas distribution utility. He is also responsible for the Tinker electric transmission system. A graduate of the University of New Brunswick, he is a seasoned business leader who prior to joining Liberty held a variety of management roles with NBTel and BellAliant.    

Mr. Volpé was named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top 50 CEOs by Atlantic Business Magazine in 2019 and 2021.  

Under his leadership, Liberty has won several awards including the Canadian Gas Association’s Corporate Safety Award for Employee Safety, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Community Involvement Award, the United Way “Community Engagement” Award and one of Habitat for Humanity’s “Volunteer & Partnership” awards.
